Moment in time - octopus and kayaker

a moment in time - octopus and kayaker

so first we had to split up into groups and then we all started
writing our own individuals ones and then after that, we had
to read each other and give feedback than after that we had
to all use the feedback we got. Then we made our collaborative
version. here is all the work we did.

Ana
In this picture, it looks like there is a group of men
kayaking and suddenly out of nowhere a seal jumps
out of the ocean and throws up an octopus that lands
onto a man who is kayaking.

He got all wet and surprised. On the octopus, you
could see that it has sharp tentacles and very wet
and this salmon kind of colour skin. When the octopus
went back into the ocean it looked so cool because
you could see bubbles coming up from the ocean.

When the octopus flew in the air some salty water
came from the ocean and splashed onto the man,
so I think that he could taste some salt water.

The man was wearing a life jacket so that if he falls
into the sea he would be safe and not drown. It looks
like he is on his way to an island.

There is a nice light blue sky with the shiny sun scorching
onto the mans back at the same time.
Hi Ana,

I like how you
are starting to
use descriptive
words
in your writing.
Maybe next
time if you
double check
your work
then that
would be great!
Keep up
the great work
Ana!

Your story
is very
interesting
because
you had
put interesting
words
into the story.
collaborative version
Glazing sun shines against the clear blue sea, as the ocean surrounds them. Fading blue sky reflects upon the deep calm ocean. On the shallow end of the mountain, meadow grass hills overflow with hot, dry sand at the bottom of the shore.

Out of nowhere something pops out of the ocean uncovering a salmon colour octopus with a small black silky seal throwing the octopus up in the air. Suddenly the octopus lands on a man who is kayaking in a bright yellow kayak.

Christ the King is a very good school - Prayer

Dear God,

Christ The King School is a very good school because we are a Catholic school, we serve God and grow, we have a school library, we have people who care for us and support us,
we follow our school values, we have authentic,
programs that help shape us for our futures, we have talented teachers,
we have devices that help us learn more, we have a Mary garden and of course,
 we are one big family.

Bio Poem - Ana

Ana

Makes people laugh, smart at maths, annoying to people, talks too much.

I am the daughter of MaliaNive and Brian, sister of Josie, Tui and Molo.

I love my family,  travelling the world and going to the beach.

I hate tomatoes because they taste yuck, the cooked pineapple in pineapple pie, and dark
chocolate because it is not sweet enough.

I dream of being famous, living in a mansion, and meeting my favourite singers.

I fear spiders because they have a lot of legs, making the wrong choices, and
losing someone in my family.

I would like to see Paris, stay in the overwater bungalows in Bora Bora and ride the rides at
Disneyland.

The things I will like to achieve are being famous, making my family proud
and behaving more in school.

The thing that I am proud about myself is my bushy hair, my tall height and my painting skills.

The things I am proud of is my mum for looking after me and my family and
buying us everything we need.  My brother who is going to the University of Auckland next year.

I live in Mount Roskill, Auckland.
New Zealand.

MY POUPOU ART REFLECTION

  1. What did you accomplish? I accomplished choosing good colours that match well with my poupou.
  2. Are you satisfied with your poupou artwork?
Why / Why not? I am satisfied with my artwork because
it looks really colourful.

3.What did you find easy when you created your Poupou artwork?
I had to restart because i did two fronts so then I
restarted and did not mess up the second time i did it.

4.What did you find challenging when you created your Poupou artwork?
I found drawing my patterns front and back challenging.
I had to create a second pattern because
I initially created to front patterns and they didn’t match up.

5.What do you need to work on? I think I need to work on is
to not go over lines when I colour it in.

6.What would you change, modify / adjust with your Poupou artwork?
I would change the looks of it and the patterns.
I would ensure I trace my back pattern correctly the first time, so that both
front and
back sides match.

7. What would you do next time to improve your Poupou artwork?
Make it more neat and take my time.

My Lions Report

Lion’s Report
Image result for lions

Something very special is that a lion's roar can go up to 8 miles away.
Lion’s can live up to 25 years in captivity. Did you know that lions are one of
the biggest family orientated animals!

Diet
Lion’s eat a lot of things of animals such as antelope, buffaloes, zebras,
elephants, rhinos, hippos, wild hogs, giraffe, crocodiles and tortoise.
They also eat small creatures like mice, rats and birds.

Habitat
Lions live in savannahs and grasslands. They can be found on the western side
of India and also in Africa. They are now only found in the South Sahara
Desert and in parts of Southern and Eastern Africa. Historically lions were
found in Greece through the Middle East to Northern India.

Appearance
Some lions appear to have no manes at all. Lions have tawney or
yellowish brownish fur. Lions have golden fur because they are
camouflage and they want to be blend in with the grass.
Male lions are larger than female lions.

Endangerment
Lions are under threat of being endangered.

Who is killing the Lions? Group hunting, known in Maasai as Olamaie,
gives the lion population a chance to grow. However, in Kenya, where this
practice is illegal, Olamaie may be used as a reason for retaliatory killing
against lions suspected of killing livestock. Maasai customary laws prohibit
killing a sick or infirm lion.
